STUDIO MANAGER

The Swimming & Fitness team are a large, friendly team responsible for looking after the members and their guests with regards the indoor sports facilities, Racquet and Fitness Centres, Dance Studio, Gym, Indoor Pool, Squash, Treatment room, Crèche as well as the Outdoor Pool in the summer months along with some seasonal outdoor sports activities.
THE ROLE
As a Studio Manager you will work full time; 37.5 hours over 5 days. Shifts are scheduled as part of a rota and will include office hour administration shifts, early opening shifts, evening closing shifts and weekends as part of duty supervision.
• Maintaining the Dance Studio programme, providing a varied timetable of classes and developing a team of popular, reliable freelance instructors.
• To ensure the daily programme of activities runs smoothly and to ensure the highest standards of customer care are maintained for members and their guests.
• Monitoring class attendance and evaluating programme performance.
• Managing the Studio budget, including instructor payroll and equipment purchases.
• Ensuring instructors maintain required certifications and comply with health and safety standards.
• Maintaining clean and safe studios and equipment.
• To act as as Duty Supervisor on a seven-day rota as part of the Fitness management and supervisor team, to include poolside responsibilities and plant room supervision.
• To safely and efficiently prepare the Fitness Centre for opening in the morning and to follow all procedures for closing in the evening.
• Collaborating with other departments to support overall programme goals.
• Promoting classes through communication channels and member engagement campaigns.
THE CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will have exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure while being friendly, polite and diplomatic. Commercially astute with experience managing budgets and teaching a range of group exercise classes. They will have previous supervisory experience in a similar environment and demonstrate excellent teamwork and organisational skills. A current Pool Plant, Lifeguard, First Aid or gym qualification would be desirable.
