With four kitchens on-site, The Hurlingham Club caters to members, their guests, and event clients with a rich variety of dining options.

The Main Kitchen – prepares and cooks food for all member/non-member and corporate functions in the Events Suites. It also assists with the food preparation in other outlets, including the Pool Bar and BBQs between May and September. Within the Main Kitchen, there is a dedicated pastry kitchen which prepares and bakes pastries, desserts, and other baked goods for events and Club venues.

The Harness Room Kitchen – offering a relaxed menu exclusively for members and their guests, providing light breakfasts, lunches and a more formal evening offering.

The Polo Bar Kitchen – prepares a light menu and dinner seven days a week.

The Brasserie Kitchen – offering modern British cuisine during lunch and dinner service for members and their guests.


THE ROLE

As Pastry Head Chef, you will work on a full-time basis; 40 hours over five days on a roster basis. Typical duties will include: 

• Overall responsibility for running the Pastry Kitchen and creating all desserts, afternoon tea items, pastries and other baked goods for the Club's serveries.

• Leading and motivating a team of three, with responsibility for their ongoing training and development. 


THE CANDIDATE

Candidates will embody our Club values; excellence, responsibility, and courtesy.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced pastry professional with strong technical skills in classic and modern patisserie, along with proven experience supervising a small team. They will be creative, organised, and confident working in a high quality, fast paced environment. Reliable and self motivated, they will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, a passion for pastry, and the ability to train, support, and inspire others. They will ideally hold formal training in patisserie or professional cookery, such as an NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification.
